Due to its colour, you might think the Grasshopper is a 1970s creation, but it was actually first shaken back at the turn of the last century.  A combination of equal parts crème de menthe, crème de cacao, and cream this drink is a perfect minty after-dinner treat.

Ingredients

  • 1 oz. 30ml Crème de Menthe (Green)
  • 1 oz. 30ml Crème de Cacao (White)
  • 1 oz. 30ml Cream
Display: oz. ml.

Instructions

Shake all ingredients with ice and fine strain into a chilled glass

Garnish

Mint leaf


More about this drink

The grasshopper is believed to have been invented by Philibert Guichet from the iconic French Quarter restaurant Tujague’s in New Orleans, while he was at a cocktail competition in New York.
