Named after the sugar on the rim, the Brandy Crusta was invented by Joseph Santini, a bartender in New Orleans at his bar, Jewel of the South back in the late 1800s. One of the establishing classics, this drink is a mix of Brandy, Maraschino Liqueur, Orange Curaçao, Lemon Juice, Sugar Syrup, and Angostura bitters.
“Standing on the banks of the Mississipi River, Vanessa realised that a half-dozen ensuring classic cocktails had been born from these shores. The thought made her wonder whether any of the amazing new drinks she had tried as part of New Orleans Cocktail Week, would also add to the annuls and impact on the future with the same resonance as the brandy drink she held in her hands.”
