If you are after a Sazerac-style drink but with both Bourbon and Cognac, then the Black Rose is perfect for this evening. Slightly fruitier than its new Orleans cousin, this drink is sweetened with a little Grenadine rather than a sugar cube and seasoned with both Peychaud’s and Angostura Bitters.
Stir all ingredients with ice, then strain into a chilled but empty (no ice) glass.
