A bottle of Tequila. A collection of Tequila cocktail recipes. Amazing summer weather. It sounds like the perfect way to celebrate National Tequila Day. That is, except for one small problem. It’s a Monday.
The Distilled Spirits Council reports that since 2003, Tequila/Mezcal volumes have grown 273%, an average rate of 7.2% per year, so it seems a little unfair that the national day to celebrate Tequila’s popularity should fall at the beginning of the week.
But we’ve got five Tequila cocktails that should tempt you. no matter what day it is.
Peachy Paloma
Ingredients
- 1.5 oz. Don Julio Blanco
- 1 oz. fresh grapefruit
- 0.5 oz. agave
- 1 peach slice
Instructions
Muddle peach in a shaker. Add the remaining ingredients and ice, then shake well. Strain into a highball glass over fresh ice.
Garnish with chilli salt rim and lime wedge.
Pineapple Verde
Ingredients
- 1.5 oz Astral Tequila Blanco
- 2 oz Fresh Pineapple Juice
- 0.75 oz Fresh Lime Juice
- 0.5 oz Agave Nectar
- Torn Sage Leaves
Instructions
Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker and lightly muddle. Add ice, shake and strain into an ice-filled highball glass.
Garnish with a grilled pineapple wedge and sage leaves.
Aire Libre
Ingredients
- 1½ oz Cierto Tequila Private Collection Reposado
- ½ oz Fresh Lime Juice
- ½ oz Mayan Honey Syrup
- 1 oz Champagne
Instructions
Add all ingredients (minus Champagne) and shake with ice until chilled. Strain into a flute glass, top with Champagne
Garnish with a lemon twist.
Salty Dog
Ingredients
- 2 oz Casamigos Blanco
- 1 oz Pink House Alchemy Herbalicious Syrup
- 3 oz fresh grapefruit juice
- Topo Chico
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
Combine syrup and grapefruit juice in a glass with ice (use 2 oz syrup for a sweeter, more soda-like drink). Top with Topo Chico and a big crack of salt.
Garnish with a grapefruit slice and rosemary sprig.
Mint Pineapple Fresca
Ingredients
- 2 oz. Jose Cuervo Tradicional® Tequila Reposado*
- 1 oz. Lime juice
- 3/4 oz. Agave nectar
- Pineapple chunks
- Mint
Instructions
Muddle pineapple chunks and mint leaves. Add tequila, fresh lime juice, and agave nectar. Stir until well mixed. Strain mixture into glass over ice.
Garnish with mint sprig, pineapple slice, and frond.
