What's New For Your Home Bar This February

February is the perfect month to reassess and restock your home bar. Luckily there are some great new releases for you to consider.

By: Tiff Christie|February 16,2019

From Gin and Tequila to Coffee Liqueur and Rum, February has released some pretty special expressions that are sure to tempt even the most frugal home bar owner.

McQueen & The Velvet Fog

It’s not often that a Gin catches our eye but between the name and the ingredients, this one is certainly intriguing. Promoted as including twenty-one different botanicals, including six that are seldom found in Gin. These rarities include basil, Rosemary, Fennel Seeds, Calamansi, Star Anise and Acai. And without bragging too much, they believe that other Gins are simple, while they have flipped the switch.

Corazón Tequila

A traditional artisanal brand with a rich history as one of the oldest distilleries in Mexico, Corazón Tequila is now available in Australia. Made from 100% Blue Weber Agave and using traditional clay ovens, Corazón offers three Premium Single Estate Tequilas (Blanco, Reposado and Añejo). After the second distillation, oxygen is infused to produce a spirit that is softer and more approachable, with an enhanced aroma and distinct flavours.

Corazón Tequila is available through leading outlets

BlackFin Coffee Liqueur

Produced by the guys at Manly Spirits and their neighbours, Seven Miles Coffee Roasters, BlackFin Cold Brew Coffee Liqueur has a sassy, bittersweet and complex character that is inspired by the adrenaline hit of an early morning surf. Using sustainably and responsibly sourced beans, distilled native botanicals, sea minerals infused into our smooth wheat vodka this coffee liqueur is for all those who respect coffee.

The Artisan Drinks Company

Beverage entrepreneur Steve Cooper has joined forces with award-winning bar owner Mikey Enright (Barber Shop & Duke Of Clarence), as well as Bowral based artist Alan Walsh, to launch a new range of premium craft mixers. Using only 100% natural ingredients, the range includes Classic London Tonic, Skinny London Tonic, Violet Blossom Tonic and Barrel Smoked Cola. Recipes have been created by Enright, with Walsh designing the vibrant bottle artworks.

Available through Masters Of Malt & other speciality outlets.

Muff Liquor

Award-winning Irish craft spirits brand The Muff Liquor Company is preparing to take its premium gin and vodka to the Australian market. While the name (which derives from the small village in which they are located) represents the “fun and cheeky” identity of the brand, the quality of the product makes it a serious contender, with Gold at the Wine and Spirits Wholesalers of America Exposition in Las Vegas and another Gold at the Asia Gin Masters in Hong Kong.

The Muff Gin is available for shipping to Australia via KWN Wine.

Transcontinental Rum Line Panama 2010

The Transcontinental Rum Line is inspired by rum casks’ historical trips between the New World and the Old Continent. The Panama expression was distilled in January 2010 and aged first in the tropics until May 2016, followed by more than a year in a continental climate. The nose wavers between exotic fruit, spice and green liquorice. It meanders through fruit and spice before reaching its finish which is heady, exotic, vanilla and mentholated.
