Siegert's Sparkling Cocktail

In 1824, Dr Johann Siegert produced his first aromatic bitters in Angostura, Venezuela. One hundred and ninety-four years later, Siegert’s Sparkling Cocktail with Amaro di Angostura, Earl Grey Tea Syrup, Lemon Juice & Tonic Water pays homage to the man.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz. 60ml Amaro di Angostura
  • 0.75 oz. 23ml Earl Grey Tea Syrup
  • 0.5 oz. 15ml Lemon Juice
  • 3 oz. 90ml Tonic Water
Display: oz. ml.

Instructions

Shake first three ingredients in an ice-filled shaker, then strain into an ice-filled highball glass. Top with Tonic Water and gently stir.

To make Earl Grey Tea Syrup – Make a Simple Syrup with 1/2 cup of Sugar & 1/2 cup of Water. Remove from heat and add Earl Grey Tea tea bags and let stand for 15 minutes. Remove tea bags and let syrup cool before pouring into an airtight container.
