Salty Dog

Main Spirit Vodka
Difficulty Easy
Technique Built

Let’s be honest, no matter how cool the name is, this cocktail is just a Greyhound with a salt rim. Again, historically a Gin drink, where the salt was used to dial down the tart and bitter notes of the Grapefruit. For this Salty Dog recipe, we’ve used the more popular Vodka, but you can sub in Gin if you’d like.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 oz. 45ml Vodka (or Gin)
  • 3 oz. 90ml Ruby Grapefruit Juice
Display: oz. ml.

Instructions

Wet the rim of a highball glass and dip it in coarse salt. Fill the glass with ice, then build the drink by adding Vodka (or Gin) and Grapefruit Juice before stirring gently to combine.

Garnish

Lime of grapefruit wedge
