Originating back from Jerry Thomas’ day, the Prescription Julep gives a nod to the days when Juleps used to be prescribed for medicinal purposes. And who wouldn’t want to be prescribed a refreshing mix of Rye, Cognac, Mint Leaves, Sugar Syrup and Orange Bitters.

Ingredients

0.5 oz. 15ml Rye
1.5 oz. 45ml Cognac
0.75 oz. 23ml Simple Syrup
2 dash 2 dash Orange Bitters
5-6 5-6 Mint Leaves

Display: oz. ml.

Julep Cup

Instructions

Add Mint Leaves and Simple Syrup to a Julep tin and lightly muddle. Add Cognac, Rye and Orange Bitters and stir. Top with crushed ice and stir again. Top with more crushed ice.
