Adapted from Stanley Clisby Arthur’s 1937 book, Famous New Orleans Drinks and How To Mix ‘Em, this Rye-based riff on a Manhattan is made sweeter with herbal Bénédictine, while bittered with Peychaud’s and Absinthe


  • 1 oz. 30ml Whiskey, Rye
  • 1 oz. 30ml Vermouth, Sweet
  • 0.5 oz. 15ml Bénédictine
  • 0.169 oz. 5ml Absinthe
  • dash dash Peychard's Bitters
Display: oz. ml.


Stir all ingredients in an ice-filled mixing glass, then strain into a chilled glass
