Cognac Julep

Main Spirit Cognac
Difficulty Medium
Technique Shaken

There is something undeniably refreshing about a Cognac Julep. With a mass of crushed ice, Cognac, Sugar Syrup and Mint, it is only a slight variation to a Mint Julep but well worth the deviation. We’ve used Martial Cordon Bleu for this recipe as it’s mellow fruit and spice finish adds a certain flair.

Ingredients

  • 2.5 oz. 75ml Cognac
  • 12 12 Mint Leaves
  • 0.66 oz. 20ml Sugar Syrup
Display: oz. ml.

Instructions

Shake all ingredients with ice then fine strain into a Julep Cup half filled with crushed ice. Use a bar spoon to churn the drink into the ice. Top with more ice and churn again, until the drink fills the cup

Garnish

Mint

More about this drink

Although Bourbon is now commonly associated with the Julep, it was probably first made with Cognac
