Black Russian

Created for Perle Skirvin Mesta, the US ambassador to Luxembourg, the Black Russian was devised by bartender Gustave Tops at the Metropolitan Hotel in Brussels in 1949. A simple mix of Vodka and Coffee Liqueur, this classic is deep and rich, while also being the older brother of the White Russian.


  • 2 oz. 60ml Vodka
  • 1 oz. 30ml Coffee Liqueur
Display: oz. ml.


Stir all ingredients in an ice-filled mixing glass and strain into an Old Fashioned glass
