Award-winning Parisian neighbourhood bar, The Cambridge, is executing its Climate Action goal (the first point in its 2023 Global Community Plan) with a visit to Hong Kong and Australia.
Partnering with like-minded bars for a series of special guest shifts and masterclasses, the team from The Cambridge will be taking over Hong Kong’s Penicillin on 30th April, followed by Sydney’s Re on 3rd May and PS40 on 5th May before ending the trip at Melbourne’s Caretaker’s Cottage on 8th May.
This is part of the bar’s continued mission to build a more sustainable future and support local communities around the world by implementing 6 out of the 17 sustainable development goals outlined in the United Nations 2023 agenda. Whilst the team is making conscious decisions to travel less this year, they have travelled to Australia to make the most of their Climate Action goal and to maximise its engagement with the local community.
The masterclasses will review the responsible consumption and production processes used by the bars within the regions. The team will also participate in the Sydney Climate Bar Talks with renowned bartender Matt Whiley from Re, Sydney.
Following their trip, the team will insert their findings into a new database to store the ideas, processes and actions. This information will be accessible to bars worldwide who want to learn more about what other bartenders are doing and how they can implement these practices in their establishments.
