Let's Drink To The Dragon This Lunar New Year

As we move onto the Year Of The Dragon, why not celebrate this auspicious time with these two stunning Cognac cocktails

By: Tiff Christie|February 6,2024

There is no better way to celebrate the Lunar New Year than with a toast to the Dragon.

While the Dragon is a symbol of strength and power, the Year Of The Dragon is often associated with good fortune, wisdom, success and protection (and don’t we all need a bit of that this year).

With this in mind, Martell has created two cocktails, Red Dragon and the Lunar Old Fashioned, as the perfect drinks to imbibe to usher this new year in.

The Red Dragon is an elevated twist on a whiskey sour. Featuring Martell Blue Swift, the drink also features Cranberry Juice, which gives the drink a celebratory red hue, alluding to the dragon’s majesty with zesty lemon, triple sec and a hit of simple syrup sweetness.

The Lunar Old Fashioned puts a spin on the classic by incorporating an aromatic oolong tea syrup, bitters, and an orange twist garnish that pays homage to the celestial allure of Lunar New Year.

Whichever way you go, we raise a glass to a year that we can all hope is filled with luck, abundance and good cheers (not to mention good drinks!)
