It’s easy to imagine that when Don The Beachcomber created the Zombie in 1934, he could not have imagined a world without the Tiki culture he helped develop.
But he might have been surprised that 90 years later, bartenders would still be creating riffs on his classic drink. Although we believe that he would completely approve of the Zombie King, a Zombie riff created at the Tiki bar Strong Water Anaheim.
Self-described as a “tik-easy” bar, Strongwater presents an immersive experience complete with antiques, tiki mugs, and playful nods to the Beachcomber himself.
To tell us more about the bar but specifically show us how to make the Zombie King, we talk to bar manager, Mauro Hernandez.
