Irish Whiskey distiller Teelings have released the fourth, and final, expression in their Brabazon single malt series. which is limited to 10,000 bottles.
Distilled in 2007, the Single malt has been aged in rare Carcavelos Port barrels. Dating back to the 18th century, Carcavelos Port isĀ a style of Portuguese fortified wine that was historically produced just outside of Lisbon.
The Series 4 Brabazon Bottling has an ABV of 49.5%, and isĀ said to have soft citrus fruit flavours and a ādistinctive, effervesce-style spiceā.
Jack Teeling, founder and managing director of Teeling whiskey, said: āOur aim with our Brabazon bottling series is to create full-bodied tasting experiences for people who enjoy the added complexity and taste that fortified wine maturation imparts.
āWe now complete the series with our final bottling, this time using barrels previously used for a rare white Port, which produces a very unique expression of Teeling and Irish whiskey.
āThis is a fitting end to our award-winning series, which celebrates the combination of old and new as well as highlighting our unique approach to making Irish whiskey and our spirit of innovation.ā
