Giuseppe Gallo, creator of Italicus Rosolio di Bergamotto and Savoia Americano Rosso has released a new expression in the Savoia range, Orancio.
Released to celebrate the second anniversary of the range, the Orancio expression transports the senses with its aromatic citrus and exotic notes.
Designed to evoking the flavours of the East that Marco Polo encountered during his 13th-century journey through Asian, as recounted in his legendary tales throughout the silk road, the ‘amber’ varient embodies an adventous spirit.
“Savoia Orancio pays tribute to the extraordinary Italian wine heritage”, explains Giuseppe Gallo. “It finds its roots in the cradle of viticulture with an authentic orange wine. Its flavour evokes the spices from the east and citrus from the west, which is revived in every sip.”
The taste of this Orancio is a combination of citrus and fruit flavours, harmoniously infused with spices reminiscent of the Silk Road, including ginger, saffron, and pomegranate.
The fragrant and complex notes of orange wine enrich the amaro-dolce (bitter-sweet) profile giving a refreshing after taste. In addition, a citrus note of bitter orange, lime and bergamot for a citrus touch that balances these flavours.
The combination of oriental aromatic herbs such as cape aloe, gentian and rhubarb create an incredibly exotic, fragrant, rich, and warm mix that unfolds in the glass.
Bottled at 17.2% ABV, the expression is ideal served cold over ice or mix it with soda or tonic water for a refreshing aperitif cocktail. Or create a classic Spritz by combining Savoia Orancio with Prosecco or sparkling rosé wine.
