While not a nightcap in the traditional sense, there is nothing better than ending the night with a well-balanced Old Fashioned.
But if you thought the Old Fashioned was only a winter warmer cocktail, then Rohan Matmary from Kuala Lumpur’s Bar Trigona has the perfect riff to put a spring in your step.
Although not new to the bar, the Bumblebee is one of those cocktails that different bartenders have adapted since the bar opened. The latest iteration is featured on the bar’s new ‘Colour Me Curious’ cocktails menu.
So join Matmary as he tells us a little about the drink, the bar, and the honey after which the bar was named, while, of course, showing us how to construct the drink.
Bumblebee cocktail
Ingredients
- 30 ml Michter’s Rye Whiskey
- 20 ml Michter’s Bourbon Whiskey
- 10 ml Trigona Honey
- 10 ml Amaro Montenegro
- 1 ml Orange Blossom Water
Instructions
Stir all ingredients in a mixing glass with ice, then strain into an Old Fashioned glass
Garnished with honeycomb, bee pollen and pink Pentas flowers.
