While it’s common knowledge that there is no better way to enjoy a Margarita than with a Taco in hand, what if you could incorporate the flavours of your Taco into your Margarita?
This is the question that The Bar In Front Of The Bar asked when creating their amazingly popular drink, the Taco Margarita.
To achieve this flavour, the bar uses redistilled Tequila with coriander and jalapeño peppers and mixes that with their special Taco Cordial, which incorporates Tomato Water, Morita Peppers, Spring Onions, and Cardamom. Then, of course, the necessary Lime Juice is added.
To show us how it’s done, bartender and co-owner Konstantinos Theodorakopoulos takes us through the drink and tells us a bit about the bar.

Taco Margarita
Ingredients
- 50ml Redistilled Tequila with coriander and jalapeño peppers
- 25ml Taco Cordial
- 10ml Lime Juice
Instructions
Shake all ingredients in an ice-filled shaker, then double strain into a chilled Nick & Nora glass
Garnish – Corn Salt.
Note – if making this at home, Theodorakopoulos points out that coriander and jalapeño peppers can be infused into the Tequila, and that they vacuum the tomato water, morita peppers, spring onions and cardamom to make the taco cordial. To make the typical margarita rim, corn is dehydrated and a corn salt is created to represent the taco shell.
