Grey Goose Harnesses Sound For Better Tasting Cocktails

In a world first, Vodka brand Grey Goose are exploring sensory sound and taste experiences in collaboration with the Dream Club podcast.

Grey Goose Vodka has always aimed to amplify the taste of craft cocktails and now it seems that the brand is able to do that literally by harnessing sonic seasoning.

In partnership with The Studio at SCA and OMD Create, the brand has utilised the phenomenon of 3D augmented reality audio and sonic seasoning to amplify the taste experience of a custom-made cocktail menu using Grey Goose Vodka.

In a world first, to be broadcast on each Friday through December, SCA’s Brooke Boney, who also co-hosts the award-winning The Dream Club, will release a special sonic seasoned cocktail immersive short cast on LiSTNR.

The Grey Goose Garden Bar podcast will be live on LiSTNR, both this Friday, December 17th with the Fresh Cut Spritz Cocktail and the following Friday, December 25th with the Watermelon Spritz (recipes below).

The podcast series will feature three specially crafted Grey Goose Cocktails – Le Grand Fizz, Fresh Cut Spritz and Watermelon Spritz – each utilising immersive 3D sound that washes over listeners to enhance and complement the premium, smooth taste of a unique Grey Goose cocktail.

“Grey Goose is constantly pursuing new and exciting ways to innovate” explained Grey Goose Marketing Manager, Steph Sarantakos. “This world-first curated sound and taste experience offers yet another elevated way for lovers of Grey Goose to engage with our products. Vodka is a booming category and Grey Goose is leading the way with innovation not only in flavour but also in consumer experience and enjoyment.

Intent on leading the way with innovation in the Vodka category, Grey Goose is hoping that their work with sonic seasoning will help raise the levels of consumer experience and enjoyment. Studies have so far shown that lower sound frequencies induce a bitter taste perception while higher frequencies invoke a sweeter taste perception.

Although already used by some of the world’s top restaurants, this will be the first-time sonic seasoning has ever been applied to a drink, with each track designed to complete the flavour experience of each bespoke cocktail.

Grey Goose will also be leading innovation in a number of different spaces this summer including the Grey Goose Snapchat filter that will instantly transport you to a French Garden, the ideal background to snap some pictures while sipping on a spritz with your mates.
