UK-based rum brand Belgrove has launched a single-origin Demerara rum from Guyana, infused with notes of fig, blackberry and cinnamon.
Aged in oak barrels, the expression is distilled using wooden pot and Coffey stills, containing a blend of rums aged up to 12 years.
“After leafing through my flavour thesaurus and after months of trialling new flavour combinations I arrived at spiced fig and blackberry, said Edmund Wood, owner and founder of Belgrove. “Rich and fruity, with gentle notes of honeycomb, raspberry and a hint of cinnamon, it was worthy of joining the Belgrove shelf.”
“We’ve imported the rum into the UK, [and] we then infuse it with real ingredients, all-natural flavours – nothing artificial goes in the bottle,” he continued.
“My hero cocktail for both Belgrove rums is an Old Fashioned with chocolate bitters, but we’ve also created some new delicious cocktails just for the spiced fig and blackberry rum.”
