Christmas Gift Guide #5

With Christmas edging ever closer, this is the fifth installment of our weekly Christmas Cocktail Gift Guides.

By: Tiff Christie|December 11,2024

When we started doing these Gift Guides (a month or so ago), it seemed like there was all the time in the world. But now, we’ve entered the two-week countdown to Christmas, and time is running out …

Of course, you might be one of those incredibly organised people who started to get their Christmas gifts sorted way back in July, but for the rest of us, the last-minute dash has begun.

Hopefully, you’ll find a few of the items in this (and our past four guides) helpful when it comes to sourcing the perfect present for that special cocktail-orientated someone. Still, worst-comes-to-the-worst, you can always grab an always-appreciated bottle of booze (which we’ll cover next week).

1. 3-Tier Industrial Bar Cart

If you’ve got a friend who has a particular talent at mixing cocktails and you would like to partake of them more frequently than you do, buy that guy a bar cart. Made of solid wood with a metal pipe frame, this gift would not only be practical but also has that industrial chic that works with any decor. After all, once he (or she) has the bar cart, it will be far easier to persuade them to put on regular soirees.

2. Flamingo Punch Bowl and Ladle Set

Really, you can make a punch bowl out of anything … a large bowl or even a watermelon, but really, being served your punch from a Flamingo is what you have been waiting for all your life. Made from hand-painted ceramic, this pink beauty will hold 32oz and comes with a ladle. And best of all, you can have the flamingo custom monogrammed, so it really makes the perfect gift.

3. Whiskey Glasses with Walnut Coasters

We all have that friend who hates the idea of a glass being put directly onto a table and who is, therefore, a bit of a coaster freak. Then what better gift than a set of stylish ribbed Old Fashioned glasses that come with their very own Walnut coasters? Hand-made with high-quality transparent lead-free crystal glass which has been designed to rotate gracefully and smoothly on the wooden coaster.

4. Tempus Fugit Black Amarena Cocktail Cherries

Are you at a loss as to what to buy for the Old Fashioned or Manhattan lover in your life? Be assured that good quality cocktail cherries are always a safe bet. Crafted from a historic recipe that dates back to the 1890s, these Italian cherries are candied and preserved in a spiced sugar syrup with a touch of Kirsch(Cherry) brandy for that authentic pre-prohibition flavour.

5. Marble Octagonal Coasters

If you have a friend who loves the look of marble but, sadly, has a bank manager who doesn’t, then why not indulge their passion on a smaller scale with this set of 4 marble coasters? Made in India with a rubber dot backing, these white marble coasters come in a 4-inch diameter octagon shape and can easily be laser monogrammed.
