We’ve started an Unusual Ingredient Challenge. In other words, we’ve found an ingredient that isn’t often used in drinks and asked a bartender to incorporate it into a drink of their creation.
Once they are done, they have to then pass the challenge on to another bartender (from another bar) with a new, unusual ingredient.
Aadam Ernest from Cape Town bar Cause & Effect is our first contestant using the unusual and weird ingredient Wasabi Peas.

- 50mls Wasabi-infused Bacardi Rum 4-year
- 15mls (0.5oz) Peppermint / Elderflower Cordial
- 15mls (0.5oz) Rooibos Cordial
- 15mls (0.5oz) Lemon & Lime Juice mix
- 15mls (0.5oz) Limoncello
- 25mls Aquafaba
Shake all ingredients in an ice-filled shaker, then dry shake all ingredients before straining into a chilled coupe.
Garnish with a dash of Angostura Bitters, three dashes of Vanilla Bitters, a sprinkling of Wasabi dust and a spritz of Bay Leaf Spray.
