New On The Bar - Mate Of Mine

A fusion of the best of a Penicillin and a Pina Colada, Mate of Mine from Sydney bar The Barrie is the perfect summer blender drink

By: Tiff Christie|June 4,2022

If you’re anything like Chris Garner, from live-music venue and cocktail bar The Barrie, then two of your favourite drinks might be a Penicillin and a Pina Colada. If that’s the case, then we imagine you’ll be just as interested to see what happens when those two classic drinks are fused together.

So as to not keep you in suspense, the mix is a refreshing, summery drink called Mate Of Mine.

Created by Chris Garner to capture the spirit of summer, Mate Of Mine utilises some of the best parts of each drink, with elements of Bourbon, Lemon Juice, Honey-Ginger Syrup and Coconut Cream. The unusual twist to this drink is that it is all mixed up in a blender.

So if you want to blend yourself up an easy, spicy, sweet drink with a bit of a boozy punch, then have a look at how Garner pulls together his Mate Of Mine.
