New On The Bar - Chrysanthemum White Martinez

If you are after a bright, balanced gin aperitif, Carson Quinn from Iron Balls Gin, shows us how to make a Chrysanthemum White Martinez

By: Tiff Christie|September 24,2021

We challenged Carson Quinn, Global Brand Ambassador for Iron Balls Gin to make a gin-forward cocktail that was neither a G&T, Martini or a Negroni riff. He, therefore, came up with the Chrysanthemum White Martinez.

A riff on a classic Martinez, this drink swaps out sweet vermouth for French (white) Vermouth and Orange Bitters for his own made Chrysanthemum Bitters.

As Quinn himself describes it, this drink is a bright, yet spirits forward cocktail that is a great aperitif

And as Quinn points out, the Chrysanthemum Bitters are easy to make “You can do it with Vodka, if you can’t get anything higher proof. Just steep the Chrysanthemums in Vodka and let it sit for 10 days and then you’re done. But lots and lots of Chrysanthemums, fill the whole bottle”.
