Whether you are located in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide or Brisbane, the crack of ice against the inside of a shaker will echo across Australa for the next month as Penny Sippe’s long awaited Australian Cocktail Month launches.
Last night at Sydney’s newly opened Hinchcliff House, the who’s who of the Australian bar scene gathered to kick off the event, which is aimed at not only highlighting the quality of offerings from Australian bartenders biut also bring patroens back to Australian venues.
“Australian Cocktail Month was developed to support the cocktail and broader hospitality industry. It has been a fulfilling process to develop and deliver this project for the industry – now it is over to the public to gather their friends, grab a ticket and get out there and experience what our bartenders can deliver,” said founder and organiser Penny Sippe.
Showcasing some of the brands supporting the event, guests were treated to delicious cocktails created by Alissa Gabriel and the team at Hinchcliff House using Bombay Bramble, Brix, Buffalo Trace, Chase, Crawley’s, Diplomatico, Feels, Lyre’s, Never Never, Patrón, Plantation and Regal Rogue.
The event has been supported by a variety of local and international spirit brands including Never Never Gin, Mr Black, Monkey Shoulder, Hendrick’s and Ford’s Gin to name a few, as well as non-alcoholic offerings from Lyre’s.
